Frequently Asked Questions
FAQs
- Q. What happens during my hair system appointment?
- A. At your consultation, our professionally-trained stylist will examine your thinning areas, measure the hair loss, colour match, look at lifestyle, skin type, hair density, and do a skin test. You will then be invited for your fitting, where we will blend your new hair system with your existing hair and expertly cut your hair system to achieve that final look.
- Q. Can I dye my hair system a different colour?
- A. We can't highlight or lighten the system only darken, but we can get custom colours (custom orders take up to 12 weeks).
- Q. Are there any side effects?
- A. There are no proven side effects to our non-surgical hair replacement systems! The hair is 100% real and the micro-mesh is full of tiny holes, allowing your skin to breathe!
- Q. How long will my hair system last?
- A. It really depends on how well you look after it and the type of system we use! Usually, clients will need 2 or 3 systems per year. However, with the right care, many of our clients only have 1 per year.
- Q. Why should I choose a hair system over a hair transplant?
- A. Surgical hair replacement is costly and invasive. Whilst they can fill in a bald patch, surgery will not stop any hair loss in the future. This is why hair replacement systems are such a good alternative. They are cost-effective and will also provide coverage all of the time.
- Q. I go to the gym and sweat a lot, is a hair system still suitable?
- A. Absolutely! With our hair systems, you can go about your daily life as you would normally. Full lace hair systems are the most breathable and lightweight styles. We also have combined bases of lace and skin which are also breathable and easy to apply and remove. For those who live in the gym and are constantly working up a sweat, we recommend you remove the hair system once a week and give it a thorough clean.
- Q. Can I change the style of my system?
- A. Yes, you can style your hair in any way you like! We tend to cut hair on a bisection, which means you can put a parting on the left, right or centre. You can wear it back, you can wear it forward. We like to give you the versatility to style your hair however you like!
- Q. Does having a hair system fitted hurt?
- A. No! You'll barely even notice we're fitting it.
- Q. Will my hair system fall off?
- A. The prospect of having your hair system fall off is mortifying. But, rest assured! Even once the bonds start to break down, your hair system will never just fall off. During your consultation, we will walk you through how to properly maintain your hair system to get the best possible results.
- Q. Can I go swimming with my hair system?
- A. Our hair systems are made to completely replicate natural hair growth from the roots. This means you will be able to shower and wash your hair like normal. If you're a swimmer, that's fine too! You'll just need a more regular maintenance program. During your free consultation, we will cover a few techniques to show you how to wash and condition your hair and ultimately explain how you get the best results!
- Q. Are there any side effects?
- A. There are no proven side effects to our non-surgical hair replacement systems! The hair is 100% real and the micro-mesh is full of tiny holes, allowing your skin to breathe!
- Q. Do hair systems look real? I'm worried people might notice!
- A. Our Male Hair Replacement Systems are made with 100% human hair, giving them an ultra-realistic look. We also carry out a free colour match service to ensure we match your system perfectly to your natural colour (or desired colour). Once applied, the hair can be customised to any style or length that you desire!
- Q. Will a hair system cause me to lose more hair?
- A. Providing the hair system is kept clean and well maintained then it will not damage your scalp or existing hair. In fact, the system will offer a level of protection against the sun and will protect sensitive scalps from the elements.
- Q. Do hair systems smell at all?
- A. No, you will not encounter any issues with smells if you are regularly maintaining your hair system with daily routines.
- Q. Are hair systems itchy?
- A. Our modern hair systems are made to be light and comfortable. A properly fitted, well-ventilated cap will ensure that you will hardly even notice it's there!
- Q. Can I still have a hair system if I have grey hair?
- A. YES, absolutely! We can order your hair system with a similar percentage of grey hair, this will create the absolute most natural look.
- Q. Will I feel my hair replacement system when I'm wearing it?
- A. There is a very slight invisible lip at the front of the scalp. But, when you run your fingers through it, you don't feel it at all.
- Q. What products can I use on my hair system?
- A. You can only use water-soluble products we have a wide selection available in the salon and we also ship them out to you if you run out between visits.
- Q. What is a Microlines system?
- A. The Microline Hair Replacement System features a net design that utilizes a combination of hair from the system, and your natural hair. Combining your own hair with Microline hair adds body and volume, while creating coverage and masking your scalp.
- Q. What is the difference between Microline and a wig?
- A. If you're a wig wearer, you'll know that you have to constantly pay attention to if it's slipped or not fitted properly. With MicroLines, on the other hand, you can do everything you like without compromise. From a strenuous gym workout or a swim in the sea. MicroLines are invisible and permanently integrated into your own hair, therefore becoming part of it. Your scalp can breathe freely and there are no restrictions when it comes to hair styling.
- Q. How long do MicroLines last?
- A. Depending on wear and care, you can enjoy natural hair volume for up to 10 months. MicroLines has a legendary 7-star hair quality, meaning you can reuse your MicroLines several times and then wear them for up to two years!
- Q. Do I have to visit the salon regularly with my MicroLines?
- A. To ensure that your MicroLines are always perfectly integrated into your own hair, they must be refixed to the hairline again every 6-8 weeks. The reason is that your own hair is constantly growing and so the MicroLines could otherwise loosen. It's also a good opportunity to freshen up your hairstyle at the same time, for example, dye the roots again.
- Q. Will a hair system cause more damage to my natural hair?
- A. No, we pay careful attention to being gentle on your hair and scalp! The MicroLines consist of microfine lines that you can hardly feel and which are particularly skin-friendly and air-permeable. Your scalp can breathe freely and you will enjoy an incomparably pleasant wearing sensation.
- Q. Can MicroLines be worn even in cases of very severe hair loss or bald patches?
- A. Yes, MicroLines were developed for precisely these hair situations. When conventional methods reach their limits, because for example too little natural hair is available or the bald patches are too big, your MicroLines will easily conjure natural hair volume. We can also make individual customisations, we can help you to achieve thick, full hair without exception for any hair problem.
- Q. Can I dye my MicroLines system?
- A. We don't recommend home dying due to the special properties within the system. However, if you want to change up the colour we can dye it in the salon during one of your maintenance visits.
- Q. Will my MicroLines system come off?
- A. Contrary to conventional hairpieces, toupees or wigs, with MicroLines you have absolutely no restrictions. Enjoy a completely new zest for life! Swimming in the sea, a windy cabriolet drive or a wonderful hiking tour? All of this is possible without compromise, just like with your own hair. With MicroLines you need not worry about anything slipping. The MicroLines are worn permanently and fit perfectly and reliably.
- Q. What happens during a MicroLines consultation?
- A. We measure the amount of hair loss. In the case of thinning hair, we measure the scalp and bone structure. We do a pull test to determine if the hair is strong enough, we look at the amount of hair loss and lifestyle factors that determine the type of system we recommend and take into consideration the desired style. We colour match, skin test if any colour work is required, and make your appointment for a fitting.
